When we are faced with a crisis of this magnitude and see solidarity prevailing, there is no way to abandon all this learning.

“The world will no longer be the same after COVID-19.” This is the phrase we have heard most in the news, most of the time with a negative connotation. It is certain that this pandemic will have socioeconomic consequences for the vast majority of countries, just as the mobilisation of governments and companies around the world to minimise these impacts is also undeniable.

The point here is: are we also paying attention to the good things that have happened during this period? Because they exist! Even though we are constantly bombarded by difficult and often discouraging news, there is a good side to this whole story - and we need to feed on it daily, not only to not get discouraged, but, above all, to take our strengths into tomorrow.

The lessons of solidarity come from the most diverse segments. From restaurants that continue to operate to provide food for homeless people to the production of alcohol gel and PPE by companies that do not operate in the sector; from children who record videos with messages of affection to health professionals to specialists who offer, free of charge, psychological help for people to take care of their mental health.

These are just a few examples that add up to dozens of others – just counting the ones I know! Taking all the essential measures so that people are protected and that, with their work, they contribute to ensuring that banks, operators, hospitals, schools, among other organisations, continue to serve the population is something that is being undertaken very well by most companies .

I feel immense pride when I stop and think that, together, as an organisation, through the knowledge of our professionals and the dedication of our work teams, we managed to bring a little normality to these strange days that we are experiencing. It is our people who make the difference, with their proactivity, leadership and team spirit.

For me, the world will be better after COVID-19. When we are faced with a crisis of this magnitude and see solidarity prevailing, there is no way to abandon all this learning. A better future is being built now.

Take care!
